FAQ

Do I have to watch every music theory video in order?

Not at all! Users of all experience levels can choose which lessons to watch, and may do so in any order. The videos are arranged in a suggested order of viewing, but users can skip lessons at any time.

Does the piano have to be my instrument?

Definitely not! The Breaking Barlines course uses keyboard images only to illustrate concepts. The piano keyboard is a straightforward way to visualize a lot of music theory, but you don’t need any piano skill or experience for this course.

Does my monthly subscription to Breaking Barlines automatically renew?

Yes, you will automatically be re-billed each month. If you wish to continue your subscription, no further action is necessary. At any time you wish to discontinue, all you have to do is click “Membership Cancel” in the drop-down under Membership Account. Also, Breaking Barlines will send you an email alert as your renewal approaches each month.

Is my Breaking Barlines monthly subscription refundable?

Your first monthly payment (the payment that begins a monthly subscription) is non-refundable. All renewal payments are refundable within 30 days of payment date.

Is there a free trial?

You can get two free video lessons with worksheets by clicking the “Free Videos” button on the home page and entering your email address. You will receive an email that gives you access to the two free video lessons and their worksheets.

Are the music theory videos downloadable?

No, the video lessons are available by monthly subscription only and cannot be downloaded. An internet connection is required for viewing.

Can I print the music theory tutorials, worksheets, and answer keys?

Yes, a subscribing member can download and print these materials, and is allowed single copy use.
